I’m just one weary woman
With my heart out on my sleeve
I cannot even sleep at night
Cause he don’t speak for me
Behold our children’s children
Will not have the guarantee
That intellect should earn respect
From sea to shining sea

Shout across the wilderness
Where is my America?
But all I hear is bitterness

We’ve traded compromise for pride
And crowned our good like Hollywood
Across a Great Divide
Where is my America?

Lobbyists and interest groups
Keep making all the noise
Thoughts and prayers are not enough
To bring back our girls and boys
We honor all at the wailing wall
Our pilgrim feet defend
Make no mistake - for Jesus’ sake
On reason we depend

Join a Left or Right brigade
Where is my America?
Don’t let the truth get in the way

God mend thine every fault
Confirm our souls in gun control
Before the next assault

Our amber waves of grain
Where is my America?
Sprayed with poison from a plane

Where we’ve brokered all the jewels
Our purple mountain majesty’s
Now mined for fossil fuels

Lady Liberty and light

Where God’s grace would lead us home
And selfish gain no longer stain
The land we used to own

Where an office can’t be bought

Objectivity was taught
