Beauty in a Broken World - Parts 1 & 2

These short films document this century-old tree museum, now shuttered due to COVID 19. Acclaimed filmmaker Jaime Green along with arboretum steward, Robin Macy take us on a journey that spans two pandemics, 18 acres and a legend of 40,000 tulips.

Part 1 chronicles this profound space and place and what Mother Nature can teach us if we are patient and willing. Part 2 tethers two pandemics as a paradox. With the kind support of Humanities Kansas, this is a gift to the Soil Sisters & Brothers - past, present and future – Bartlett Arboretum, est. 1910, Belle Plaine, Kansas.
