Sunflower RC & DThe Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Area, Inc. is a 501© (3) non-profit organization comprised of a network of community volunteer leaders from eight south central Kansas counties. This group's grassroots mission is to provide leadership, technical and financial assistance to help a diverse number of projects in the areas of Community and Economic Development, Forestry, Recreation, and Environmental Education. Some of these areas of interest include Agritourism Development Initiative, Community Recycling, Wildflower Tours, Scenic Byways and Historic Preservation. The RC & D Council recognizes the value for conserving and sustaining our natural resources for future generations. In 2005 Bartlett Arboretum was selected to be a valued project under this unique non-profit's umbrella. Due to the kind endorsement of Sunflower RC & D, supporters are now able to make tax deductible contributions to help sustain the lifeline of this important Kansas landmark.
