Parker Millsap Band – Sunday, June 5, 2022

To hear Parker Millsap tell it, there's a little bit of Jesus - and a little bit of the devil - in him and his music.

To hear Elton John tell it: “Parker Millsap restored my faith in music.”

You can hear what the fuss is all about at Bartlett Arboretum in Belle Plaine., Sunday June 5.

Having won The Americana Music Association Emerging Artist of the year, Parker packs a punch. With five studio albums to his name, the Oklahoma son of blues-loving, Pentecostal parents has been featured on NPR, Conan and Austin City Limits, among others. He and his band are swinging through Belle Plaine, performing music from his brand new release, Be Here Instead. Lucky us.

Perhaps Parker’s own words are the most revealing: “To me, gospel singing and blues singing are the same thing, just one's about Jesus and the other’s about women… “
